Tier 2 Data Analyst

About the role

Cat Digital, the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc., is hiring a Tier 2 Data Analyst in Kosice, Slovakia. The role provides advanced operational support, troubleshooting and stabilization of data pipelines and data platforms, acting as a bridge between Tier 1 support and engineering (L3) teams to ensure fast incident resolution, data quality and system reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate incidents escalated from Tier 1, analyzing logs, data pipelines, APIs and system integrations to find root causes
• Restore service using workarounds or fixes for known or semi-known issues
• Coordinate P1/P2 incident response, including bridge calls and stakeholder communication
• Monitor data pipelines, jobs and system health via alerts, dashboards and logs
• Detect anomalies in data flows and validate data across ERP, APIs and databases
• Identify risks and performance degradation, and execute and improve operational runbooks
• Work with Data Engineering teams on root cause analysis and permanent fixes, and support production releases and maintenance
• Take part in knowledge transfer sessions, onboarding of services and ensure monitoring and alerts are properly configured

Required profile

• Experience with data pipelines and ETL tools such as SnapLogic or DataStage (or equivalents)
• Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Azure Monitor, Grafana or Splunk
• SQL and data analysis skills, and Python or scripting for troubleshooting
• Experience with API integrations, distributed systems, log analysis and observability
• Incident management processes (ITSM / ServiceNow) and experience in incident prioritization and SLA-driven environments
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to correlate issues across systems
