DevOps Engineer - CloudOps & FinOps

About the role

Cat Digital, the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc., is looking for a CloudOps & FinOps Engineer to join its Slovakian branch in Kosice. You will help operate, optimize and govern Caterpillar's cloud environments so that engineering teams can deliver secure, reliable and cost-efficient digital products. The position works directly with Slovakia-based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT teams in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and shared services across AWS and Azure.
• Drive cloud cost visibility, governance and optimization through FinOps best practices.
• Monitor cloud usage, performance, reliability and security.
• Develop and maintain automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, security and business teams to improve operational excellence and cloud efficiency.

Required profile

• Experience operating cloud environments in AWS and/or Azure.
• Understanding of CloudOps, FinOps, cloud governance and security best practices.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or similar).
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, observability and incident management.
• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in an Agile environment.

Required skills

• IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep or similar.
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
• Cloud monitoring and observability.
• Preferred: FinOps tools, multi-account AWS or multi-subscription Azure, cloud security and governance platforms, Power BI, Docker, Kubernetes, API platforms (Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management) and AWS certification.

What we offer

• Gross pay from 2,748 to 3,300 euros per month, with a base minimum of 32,976 euros per year.
