Lead Software Test Engineer

About the role

Cat Digital, the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc., is looking for a Lead Software Test Engineer in Kosice, Slovakia. The role supports agile software development for Caterpillar's products, including the parts.cat.com web application, and coordinates planning, strategy and testing across a wider portfolio of teams. It reports to Slovakia-based engineering leadership and works with Caterpillar in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, strategy and testing activities across a portfolio of teams and lead innovation and improvements in the product and testing streams.
• Measure team efficiency and productivity and steer compliance against agreed KPIs.
• Independently develop business-valuable features while maintaining high software quality standards.
• Report on and manage defects found by the test team and help prioritize their solutions.
• Manage the development and implementation of automated tests using TypeScript or a similar framework, and define and implement test systems and frameworks.
• Mentor other test engineers and guide them in writing well-structured test cases.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in IT development and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Knowledge of software development tools and activities, and of software product testing, including designing and executing testing strategies.
• Proven experience with Agile software testing and quality assurance, and coordinating teams and activities.
• Experience integrating continuous testing into CI/CD pipelines, shift-left methodologies and seamless delivery.
• Experience setting up and configuring test management and automation tools.
• Understanding of testing responsive applications.

Required skills

• Playwright and TypeScript for automation, including backend tools such as Postman or Bruno.
• Azure DevOps or an alternative tool.
• General experience with testing tools, technologies and frameworks.

• Gross pay of 4,600+ euros per month, with a base minimum of 52,824 euros per year.
