Audit Director Operations & Change

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Audit Director for Operations & Change in Bratislava. The role covers all audit work related to Operations, HR, Legal & Compliance, as well as projects and transformation, and supports the delivery of independent assurance to the Board of Directors and relevant Legal Entities. It is an opportunity to shape the risk culture of Swiss Re and develop strong Operations & Change expertise in the audit team.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively assess risks in Operations, HR, Legal & Compliance and projects and transformation to set assurance priorities and ensure appropriate audit coverage.
• Steer audit teams to stay critical and independent while balancing the risk perspective with the business's risk view.
• Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, raise issues early and give forward-looking audit opinions, acting as a sparring partner to management on risk mitigation.
• Lead the team as a catalyst leader, supporting the personal and professional development of team members and communicating the value of assurance to the audit committee as well as insights on improving the control environment.
• Take personal accountability for decisions, stay calm and focused in difficult times, and uphold integrity and good governance.

Required profile

• 12+ years of work experience in audit or other relevant roles, ideally at a senior level in the insurance/reinsurance industry.
• Leadership experience in a global, matrix-driven organization.
• Strong understanding of risk, control and governance, with a track record of building effective and efficient control systems.
• Strong knowledge of Operations and experience with transformational processes and projects.

Nice to have

• CPA, CA, CIA or other relevant professional certification.
• Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders.
• Ability to plan well, coach and deliver value in time.

The base salary range for Slovakia is EUR 5,800 to EUR 9,700 per month for a full-time role, depending on profile and experience; a performance-based bonus may also apply. The position is listed as hybrid (#LI-Hybrid).
