Security Monitoring Specialist (m/f/n)

About the role

ESET's Service Security team in Bratislava is looking for a Security Monitoring Specialist. You will work with assigned customers, analyse security threats and incidents, and take part in developing new security technologies and monitoring services. The position is full-time and hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Work with security monitoring and threat reporting software
• Analyse security threats and investigate incidents, mapping computer attacks
• Create incident reports for clients and communicate incidents
• Develop new security technologies and improve monitoring services
• Optimise the monitoring system for each customer's environment
• Identify malicious code and cooperate on detailed malware analysis
• Keep up with continual education in computer security

Required profile

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Interest in continuous learning in computer security
• Analytical thinking, patience with large amounts of data, independence and customer communication skills
• English: understanding of technical text and ability to write simple technical reports
• Fluent Slovak or Czech is a plus
• Willingness to work in standby shifts (24x7 wakeup calls)

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux, including processes, registry, filesystem and services
• Computer network basics (IP addresses, ports, protocols, MAC addresses)
• Basic scripting: PowerShell, batch/cmd, VBScript, JavaScript
• Advantage: SOC, SIEM, incident response, forensic analysis or security certifications such as CEH
