Customer Tax Compliance Officer (FATCA/CRS)

About the role

ING is looking for a Customer Tax Compliance Officer to safeguard the bank against customer tax compliance risks. The position is full-time and based in Bratislava, working remotely from there while joining the Advisory & Control team of the Compliance ING NL department in Amsterdam. The team consists of 15 Financial Crime Compliance and Customer Tax Compliance specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain deep knowledge of FATCA, CRS, US withholding tax, QI, CTI (CESOP, MDR, DAC6/7) and Spanish tax law
• Act as subject matter expert and local escalation point, advising and assessing FATCA/CRS/USW assessments of products
• Review RT NL and WB NL FATCA and CRS reportable information before filing
• Monitor and communicate local regulatory updates and their impact
• Review, challenge and improve local processes, procedures and guidance documents
• Advise, approve and follow up on audit items, issues, waivers and deviations
• Advise on the risk and control framework, including the RAC process and gap analyses
• Support second-line monitoring, project work and the FCC QA team

Required profile

• 3-6 years of experience in FATCA/CRS/USW and/or KYC/FEC, with excellent knowledge of compliance concepts
• Academic degree in a relevant field, preferably (tax) law or (fiscal) economics
• Background in financial services
• Fluent English and strong written and oral communication
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills
• Independent, organised and able to meet tight deadlines

Required skills

• Experience with FATCA, QI, CRS and US withholding tax transparency regulations
• Knowledge of ING NL processes is a plus
