Analytics Engineer

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Analytics Engineer in Bratislava to join Group Data Services (GDS), which builds scalable data and AI solutions for information retrieval, document analytics and enterprise knowledge platforms. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, analytics and AI, in a dynamic Agile environment, partnering with business and engineering teams to design, build and operate data-driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data engineering and analytics solutions that meet evolving business needs.
• Build end-to-end applications and services for document analytics and information retrieval, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Develop robust, cloud-native solutions using modern engineering practices and cutting-edge technologies.
• Contribute to solution architecture and drive continuous improvement and platform reliability across the stack.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Apply Agile, DevOps and CI/CD best practices across the full software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Hands-on software development experience with strong Python skills (Java is a plus).
• Proven experience designing and building scalable, data-intensive applications from the ground up.
• Knowledge of SQL, Apache Spark, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines in production environments.
• Experience working in Agile development teams.
• Nice to have: Palantir Foundry, LLMs, AI engineering or RAG, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or equivalent.

What we offer

• Base salary in Slovakia of EUR 2,400 to EUR 4,100 per month for a full-time role, depending on profile and requirements.
