About the role

TOMRA Recycling is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to lead local accounting and financial reporting for its Slovak entity. This position goes beyond routine bookkeeping, influencing financial process quality, supporting automation, and collaborating with senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage core accounting processes in compliance with Slovak legislation.
• Process invoices, payments, payroll, VAT filings and maintain the asset register.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closing statements.
• Produce financial and statistical reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
• Conduct general ledger inventory and oversee physical inventory counts.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and calculate provisions.
• Propose and implement process improvements and support automation initiatives.
• Provide expert guidance to team members and work closely with local and international finance teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Slovak accounting and tax regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with monthly and yearly closings, VAT, tax returns and audits.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, IFS or equivalents.
• Fluent English for daily communication.
• Analytical mindset and problem‑solving orientation.
