Senior Specialist Software Engineering

About the role

The Senior Specialist Software Engineering is a member of the BIT Application Development team in Bratislava, responsible for developing, enhancing, testing and supporting enterprise applications including Vector, TREQS and VALET. The role uses modern web technologies, cloud platforms and software engineering practices to deliver reliable and secure business solutions, working with team members, product owners and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy and support application features using Angular, Node.js, SQL, AWS and related technologies.
• Build and maintain UI components, APIs, database integrations and backend services for the Vector, TREQS and VALET platforms.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners and team members to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Take part in code reviews and apply development standards, design patterns and best practices.
• Maintain SQL queries, database objects and data integrations, and help implement cloud-based solutions on AWS.
• Create and run automated and manual tests, troubleshoot defects, support production issues and take part in root cause analysis.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, testing and releases.
• Document technical solutions, processes and application changes as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of software development experience.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, effective communication and ability to work in a team.

Required skills

• Web applications with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Node.js and REST API development.
• SQL, data modeling and relational databases.
• AWS or other cloud environments, Git and basic CI/CD concepts.
• Software development lifecycle and Agile practices.
• Design principles, coding standards and application security fundamentals.
• Preferred: enterprise business applications, automated testing tools (Playwright, Cypress, Jest), Jira, ServiceNow, GitHub, microservices and cloud-native/DevOps interest.

What we offer

• Salary from 3,200 to 4,900 EUR gross per month (annual range 39,400 to 59,200 EUR).
• 40 hours per week.
