Senior Scrum Master - Maternity Cover

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to cover maternity leave in Bratislava. You will act as a servant leader for Product Owners of 3-4 Squads and the Squad members, reporting to the Unit Head. You will support the Squads by maintaining the backlog, facilitating Scrum ceremonies and monitoring performance through the Squad dashboard, while also driving improvements in the wider Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and develop Scrum-based Squads to be self-organised and help remove their impediments
• Act as a buffer against external distractions and mediate conflicts so the squad can make decisions
• Support the Product Owner in setting goals, scope and product backlog management
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint closing and retrospectives
• Use Azure DevOps for planning, progress tracking and delivery transparency
• Keep the backlog up to date and balanced across the team
• Contribute to the Unit with coaching and mentoring, and exchange ideas with other Scrum Masters

Required profile

• More than 3 years of experience with agile teams using Scrum and Kanban
• Ability to understand engineers' day-to-day work and the wider context
• Experience with Swiss Re's Enterprise IT tools or similar in another international enterprise IT organisation
• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to influence without formal authority
• Excellent communication and people-interaction skills

Required skills

• Proficient knowledge of agile frameworks and principles
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or comparable tools (backlog, sprint planning, dashboards)
• Knowledge of Scrum and Kanban

What we offer

• Base salary in Slovakia of EUR 3,300 to 5,400 per month for a full-time role, depending on profile and experience
