Quality Assurance Engineer II – Data Pipeline

About the role

Bloomreach is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer II to own quality for high‑volume data pipelines that move customer data in real time. You will work on backend services, imports, and exports, ensuring reliability across Kafka, GCP, and Kubernetes environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own black‑box API‑level and integration/end‑to‑end test automation for Data Pipeline services, especially imports.
• Build and maintain automated test suites in GitLab CI/CD that gate deployments and catch regressions.
• Read Go and Python pipeline code to identify gaps and create meaningful test cases.
• Drive test strategy during grooming and design reviews, applying a shift‑left mindset.
• Partner with developers to spread automation practices and turn production incidents into durable regression tests.

Required profile

• Experience writing test automation in code (Python or Go) for integration and API tests.
• Ability to read backend/pipeline code and spot cross‑component failures.
• Comfortable owning black‑box automation and working primarily in code.
• Shift‑left mindset: participate in grooming and design from day one.
• Adaptable, self‑directed, and effective in a remote‑first environment.
• Fluent use of AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Gemini CLI) in daily workflow.
