Freelance Lead Auditor – SA8000/SMETA (Slovakia)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Auditor specializing in social accountability and ethical audit standards for freelance, project‑based engagements in Slovakia. The role offers flexible, call‑based collaboration aligned with our audit planning calendar.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audits against SA8000 and/or SMETA standards.
• Lead audit teams through planning, execution, and reporting phases.
• Assess compliance with social accountability, labor practices, health & safety, environmental, and business ethics management systems.
• Evaluate worker conditions, labor rights, and ethical business practices across supply chains.
• Document findings with detailed audit reports, non‑conformities, observations, and corrective‑action recommendations.
• Communicate results clearly to project management, procurement teams, and client stakeholders.
• Maintain audit documentation and ensure traceability of all audit activities.
• Provide technical guidance on social accountability best practices and ethical compliance requirements.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes.
• Conduct worker interviews and site inspections to verify compliance.

Required profile

• Valid SA8000 Lead Auditor Certification (current).
• Valid SMETA Lead Auditor Certification (current).
• Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on social accountability and ethical audit experience.
