Automation Engineer - Delivery & Solutions (Hybrid)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Automation Engineer within its Underwriting Solutions Centre in Bratislava. You will design, develop and test automated underwriting solutions on Magnum, Swiss Re's automated underwriting platform used by clients globally. As a hands-on developer you will work across requirements analysis, development, testing and implementation, while also taking ownership of delivery, coordinating stakeholders and contributing to cross-functional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and underwriting requirements and turn them into automated solutions.
• Develop, configure, test and maintain Magnum rules and automation solutions.
• Run functional, integration, regression and scenario tests, support defect resolution, releases, production validation and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation, traceability and development standards, and use automation, AI and reusable solutions to improve delivery.
• Own assigned solutions from requirements through implementation, and contribute to planning, estimation and coordination in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Coordinate activities, dependencies, risks and priorities across technical and business teams, and proactively resolve delivery challenges.
• Work with product owners, business analysts, underwriters, architects and developers, communicating progress, risks and technical topics clearly, and mentor colleagues.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in technology, automation, software delivery or a related field.
• Experience coordinating projects, workstreams or cross-functional activities, or a demonstrated interest in broader delivery responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience with development, configuration, testing or implementation of technical solutions.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and coordination skills, with the ability to take ownership and work across business and technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with business rules, workflow or automation platforms, and with UiPath, RPA, AI or other automation technologies.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, Java, SQL or similar technologies.
• Experience with JIRA and Agile delivery tools, and mentoring or leadership experience.
• Experience with globally distributed teams.

The base salary for Slovakia is EUR 2,100 to EUR 3,400 per month for a full-time role, plus a performance-based variable component and global and location-specific benefits. The role is hybrid.
