Associate Legal Counsel (Temporary)

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for an Associate Legal Counsel for a 12-month fixed-term position in Bratislava, within its Slovakia operations. The role supports the EMEA Advisory team and the wider Legal & Compliance Division, providing legal, regulatory and corporate governance advice to stakeholders across the business, with a focus on Slovak entities and other group companies in the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor, giving clear, practical and commercially sound legal, governance and regulatory guidance
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise management on their implications
• Coordinate management, board and/or shareholder meetings, with high-quality documentation and follow-up
• Contribute to corporate restructuring projects
• Maintain accurate corporate information in central systems and archives, supporting due diligence and information requests
• Develop templates, policies and processes to strengthen legal frameworks and improve efficiency
• Manage relationships with outside legal counsel and notaries

Required profile

• Legal qualification from Slovakia or another European jurisdiction
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house position
• Practical experience in corporate law and corporate governance, ideally with some exposure to financial services regulation
• Fluent English, verbal and written
• Experience with digital systems for corporate, legal entity or governance information, and willingness to learn new tools

Nice to have: reinsurance experience, international company experience, project management skills and additional European languages.

What we offer

• Monthly base salary in Slovakia of 1,900 to 3,200 EUR for a full-time role, depending on profile and experience
• Possible performance-based bonus, subject to policy and contract terms
• Hybrid work model, with at least 50% office presence expected
