Senior VAT Compliance Analyst – International Indirect Tax

About the role

Amazon’s International Indirect Tax Compliance team is looking for an energetic Senior VAT Compliance Analyst to manage VAT filings across EMEA jurisdictions. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, ensuring accurate VAT returns, registrations and related compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse, review and submit EMEA VAT returns and related filings.
• Prepare, analyse, review and submit Intrastat returns as required.
• Organise VAT registrations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Respond to VAT compliance queries from Amazon businesses operating in EMEA.
• Map VAT processes, identify improvement areas and implement solutions.
• Prepare and review month‑end VAT account reconciliations.
• Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis.
• Support accounting groups and contribute to Tax Requirement Documents for technology teams.
• Lead and participate in cross‑functional projects focused on automation and in‑housing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in tax, accounting, finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in VAT advisory or compliance.
• Basic VAT knowledge and understanding of financial systems.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ownership of tasks.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
