Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Oracle Database Platform

About the role

Erste Digital, part of Erste Group, the largest banking group in Central and Eastern Europe, is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with Oracle Database platform experience. The role supports reliable, secure and scalable database services across database administration, platform operations and reliability engineering, helping to improve automation, monitoring, incident response and operational practices for mission-critical Oracle environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Oracle databases across development, testing and production environments.
• Support configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, security, access management and compliance.
• Monitor health, availability, performance, capacity and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot issues and take part in incident resolution, root cause analysis and problem management.
• Support high availability and disaster recovery with Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
• Create and maintain scripts and automation for operational tasks.
• Contribute to monitoring, logging, alerting and observability.
• Collaborate with database, platform and application teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• Active experience in the last 2-4 years administering Oracle databases or supporting enterprise database platforms in production.
• Knowledge of Oracle administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning and database operations.
• Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL and PL/SQL.
• Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, database resilience, security, access controls and auditing.
• Preferred: experience with Oracle Exadata, Oracle Multitenant, OCI, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Ansible or database migration and modernization.

Required skills

• Oracle technologies: RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Scripting with Bash, Python or similar.
• Basic Linux or Unix administration and familiarity with infrastructure, storage and networking.
