Lead System Engineering – Database Security and Certification

About the role

This Lead System Engineering position ensures that enterprise database technologies are secure, certified, supportable and ready for use across the business. It provides technical leadership for System Database Administration (SDBA) engineering, with a primary focus on Oracle Database, Oracle Client and MongoDB-related tooling, covering database security patch certification, product lifecycle governance, software distribution, documentation and operational support for deployment and vulnerability remediation. It is a senior individual contributor role.

Key responsibilities

• Lead certification and readiness for Oracle database and client technologies, including new versions, OS changes, desktop software, virtual desktops and supported UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms.
• Coordinate recurring Oracle security patch certification, including patch acquisition, staging, testing, issue resolution, release guidance, installation templates and vulnerability remediation support.
• Manage technology standards and product lifecycle information for Oracle Database, Oracle Client, MongoDB Compass and related tools, including version updates, usage requirements, product requests and exception reviews.
• Maintain database software distribution, including Oracle software repositories, client packages, patch bundles, tools, instant clients and cloud or on-premises staging locations used by application and database support teams.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, certification procedures, patching guidance, technology advisories and support materials, and advise application teams, DBAs, desktop services, security teams, infrastructure teams and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• Typically 5+ years of experience in database administration, systems engineering, database security, platform certification, vulnerability remediation, software packaging or distribution, automation support, technology standards management or related technical operations.
• Strongly preferred: Oracle Database and Client, UNIX/Linux and Windows, database patching and security controls, vendor support processes, technical documentation and enterprise deployment practices.
• Certifications in database, security, cloud or systems fields are a plus.
• Ability to work independently, resolve complex issues, mentor others and communicate risks and progress to stakeholders.

What we offer

• Annual salary of EUR 52,800 to 79,200, depending on geography, experience, expertise and education.
• 40 hours per week.
