Group Finance, Bookkeeping & Procurement Manager

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised, commercially‑minded finance professional to oversee day‑to‑day finances, bookkeeping, project costs and procurement across a growing group of five companies. This senior role blends construction knowledge with strong financial control to protect margins and ensure accurate, up‑to‑date information for each entity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for five companies in Xero, reconciling bank, credit‑card, loan and inter‑company transactions.
• Produce weekly financial summaries and monthly profit‑and‑loss, cash‑flow and balance‑sheet reports for directors.
• Maintain separate and consolidated group reporting, director’s loan and shareholder records.
• Set up and monitor project accounting, allocating labour, materials, subcontractor and supplier costs to each project.
• Track project budgets, purchase orders, invoices and margins, flagging overspend and margin risks.
• Oversee procurement, supplier management and cash‑flow planning, coordinating inter‑company payments and recharges.
• Ensure CIS compliance, calculate deductions, submit monthly CIS returns and quarterly VAT returns.
• Chase late payments, manage staff and contractor expenses, and maintain digital records for statutory reporting.
