Head of Finance – Russian Speaker

About the role

WhizzWhizz is seeking a Head of Finance who is fluent in Russian to lead its finance and accounting function. This senior, operational role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, disciplined budgeting, and strong financial controls across a fast‑growing, asset‑heavy e‑bike subscription business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and ensure accuracy of the P&L, cash flow statement, and balance sheet; manage the monthly close on schedule.
• Oversee inventory and fleet accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, fixed‑asset register, disposals, and reconciliation with the general ledger.
• Maintain and update the company’s financial model; build annual and quarterly budgets with department heads and track performance against plan.
• Design and implement financial control procedures such as spend authorizations, segregation of duties, and cash/receivables/payables controls.
• Manage in‑house accountants and an outsourced accounting firm, setting clear deadlines and quality standards.
• Supervise payroll, multi‑state tax registrations and filings, statutory reporting, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and product teams on pricing, new city launches, vendor contracts, and payment system changes.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including full monthly close ownership (Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in the US market with multi‑state payroll and tax compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with inventory and fixed‑asset accounting in a physical business.
• Track record of building finance processes from the ground up.
• Experience managing both internal accounting staff and external providers.
