Finance Operations Specialist with German

About the role

PwC Tax k.s. in Bratislava is looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional fluent in German to support clients in their day-to-day finance operations. The role sits in operational finance, with coordination, communication with German-speaking clients and a gradual move towards being a trusted partner rather than a transactional executor. It is full-time, with occasional home office, starting by agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate operational finance and accounting processes, focusing on accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and procure-to-pay.
• Record, review and reconcile financial transactions within agreed timelines, including AP, AR, bank transactions, payroll items and GL entries.
• Follow up on open items, chase approvals and coordinate across finance and business teams.
• Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders in German (emails, calls, meetings) and take part in regular status discussions.
• Support month-end closing and contribute to financial reporting with financial analysts.
• Help prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and perform basic financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legislation, and share knowledge with junior colleagues.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations.
• Fluent German (C1) written and spoken; good English for internal communication.
• Solid understanding of AP, AR, GL, procure-to-pay or treasury processes is an advantage.
• Experience in consulting, SSC or a shared service environment is a plus; knowledge of accounting or tax regulations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Ability to manage several tasks, meet deadlines and work accurately with financial data.
• AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Power BI are valued.
