Junior Accountant with German (m/f)

About the role

PwC Tax k.s. in Bratislava is hiring a Junior Accountant with German for its tax practice. The role suits a graduate or junior finance professional who wants hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations on international projects for German-speaking clients. The position is full-time, based at Karadžičova 2 with occasional home office, and starts by agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting and finance operations (AP, AR, GL, procure-to-pay)
• Process and review accounting data such as invoices, payments and open items
• Assist with bank postings, payroll-related entries and reconciliations
• Support month-end closing activities under supervision
• Communicate with internal stakeholders and clients mainly in German via email and calls
• Follow up on open items and help resolve issues
• Work with accounting systems and MS Excel, and learn accounting standards, internal processes and client requirements
• Take part in international projects and team knowledge sharing

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics or a similar field
• German at C1 level (spoken and written)
• Good command of English
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Attention to detail, accuracy with data, ability to meet deadlines and willingness to learn

Required skills

• MS Excel
• Accounting systems (experience is an advantage)
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Power BI is valued
