Accounting Associate with German (m/f)

About the role

PwC Tax k.s. in Bratislava is looking for an accounting associate with German language skills. The role suits an accounting professional with initial hands-on experience who enjoys working with clients and wants to grow in an international environment. You will take ownership of selected accounting areas and support German-speaking clients in their operational finance processes, working independently and communicating confidently with them. The position is full-time, based at Karadžičova 2 in Bratislava with occasional home office.

Key responsibilities

• Independently support operational accounting processes (AP, AR, GL, procure-to-pay)
• Record, review and reconcile financial transactions within agreed timelines
• Manage open items and follow-ups with clients and internal teams
• Support end-to-end finance processes, including cash application and treasury-related activities
• Communicate with German-speaking clients by email, call and meeting
• Take part in month-end closing and support financial reporting
• Help prepare monthly and annual financial statements and perform basic financial analysis
• Contribute to process improvements, support junior colleagues and help identify discrepancies

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance operations
• German at C1 level and good command of English
• Solid understanding of AP, AR, GL, P2P or treasury processes
• Experience with accounting systems (SAP, Oracle or similar) and good MS Excel skills
• Ability to prioritise, work independently and meet deadlines; proactive and confident in client communication
• Experience in SSC, consulting or shared services is a plus
