Commodity Manager – Global Procurement

About the role

Semecs is seeking a Commodity Manager to lead global procurement activities across its electronics manufacturing sites. The role will support technical development, customer projects, and drive cost‑reduction initiatives while ensuring supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned commodity groups across the SERO EMS Group.
• Support technical development and customer projects, involving suppliers early.
• Provide functional leadership to buyers at multiple locations.
• Evaluate technical concepts, specifications, and engineering changes.
• Lead global technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers.
• Drive cost‑reduction and value‑improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate cross‑site actions during critical supply‑chain events.
• Represent the company in supplier escalations and act as escalation point between sites and strategic suppliers.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or a comparable qualification with relevant experience.
• Several years of experience in commodity management, preferably in the electronics industry.
• Strong technical understanding of specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills at management level.
• Analytical, strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Proven negotiation experience in price and contract discussions.
• Team‑oriented, proactive, structured and results‑driven.
• Resilient, flexible and fluent in English; German is a plus.
• Legally authorized to work in Vráble (SK), Uden (NL) or Mosbach (DE).
