System Engineer – Voice & Linux Systems

About the role

We are looking for a System Engineer who will be responsible for the technical implementation, deployment, and quality assurance of our systems throughout their full lifecycle in the Air Traffic Management domain. This hands‑on role involves on‑site installations, system upgrades, and direct interaction with customers, covering activities from system design and integration to acceptance, commissioning, and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• On‑site installation, integration and upgrades at customer locations such as airports and ATM centres.
• Participation in design phases, architecture discussions, Critical Design Review (CDR), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Direct customer interaction during commissioning, acceptance and operational phases, including incident and problem resolution.
• Collaboration with Customer Service, Support, Product Management and development teams for root‑cause analysis, change requests and continuous product improvement.
• Documentation of incidents, creation of technical documentation and execution of system audits.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Information Technology, Telecommunications or related field.
• Upper‑intermediate English (B2) communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (Vienna, Bratislava) and work both on‑site and in the office.
• Self‑driven, goal‑oriented and able to follow corporate processes.

Required skills

• Installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux servers (RHEL).
• Bash scripting.
• Virtualisation platforms – preferably VMware.
• Experience with SBC and PABX systems.
• Knowledge of storage technologies, basic networking and clustering concepts.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and step‑by‑step instructions.
• Familiarity with VoIP, SIP protocols and analogue/digital voice interfaces (advantage).
