Software Engineering Technical Leader - Webex Native Client

About the role

Cisco's Webex Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineering Technical Leader for its Webex Native Client in Bratislava. The team builds collaboration products such as Webex Meetings, Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center, working closely with UX design and product management in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and lead the technical direction of end-user features used by millions of people worldwide.
• Own architectural decisions in your domain, defining and communicating scalable, maintainable designs aligned with platform strategy.
• Break down complex product requirements into technical designs and executable work, guiding teams from concept to delivery.
• Act as a technical leader and role model, setting high standards for code quality, testing, reliability and operational excellence.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, reviews, feedback and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with product managers and designers to influence roadmap decisions.
• Listen to customers, investigate issues and lead improvements based on CSAT, NPS and other metrics.
• Champion the use of AI tools to improve productivity and focus effort on complex engineering challenges.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software development experience delivering production-grade software in complex environments.
• Experience leading architecture and design discussions and influencing technical direction across teams.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, product partners and stakeholders.
• Commitment to quality, including test strategy, code reviews and operational readiness.

Preferred qualifications

• End-to-end development experience with languages such as C++, Swift, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java or Python, and frameworks such as Qt, Cocoa, React or Angular.
• Strong experience with unit, integration and end-to-end testing, including contract testing and test automation in CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git, DevOps, continuous integration and delivery, and optimizing apps across Windows, macOS, Linux and Web.
• Interest in AI-assisted development with LLM-based tools.

The starting salary range is EUR 50,000 to EUR 66,900, depending on location, experience and qualifications.
