Senior Platform Engineer (SRE) – AI Solutions

About the role

Senior Platform Engineer (SRE) for AI Solutions will build and run the core cloud‑native developer platform that enables product pods to ship quickly and operate reliably. You will own reliability, design golden‑path blueprints, and leverage AI‑driven tools to produce production‑grade infrastructure as code.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate Syntax's cloud‑native developer platform on Kubernetes across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Design golden‑path blueprints that enable product pods to self‑serve provisioning, CI/CD, deployment and operations.
• Own the internal developer portal (e.g., Backstage) providing access to services, documentation and paths.
• Maintain the observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure traceability and on‑the‑loop operations.
• Drive SRE practices: define SLOs/SLIs, handle incident response, improve performance and automate toil‑reducing tasks.
• Leverage agentic coding tools daily to produce production‑quality IaC and push the frontier of AI‑assisted deployment and operation.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in cloud‑native technologies, especially Kubernetes and the CNCF ecosystem.
• Production experience on at least one hyperscaler (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Solid understanding of SRE fundamentals: SLOs/SLIs, incident response, reliability engineering and automation.
• Strong IaC skills (Terraform, Helm, GitOps) and ability to support developers with golden‑path designs.
• Experience building or operating a developer portal (Backstage) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Daily fluency with agentic coding tools to generate production‑grade IaC.
