Senior Backend Developer (German Speaking) – IPLS-ROT

About the role

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia is looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Senior Application Developer) with German language skills to join its Košice office. The role develops and maintains the IPLS-ROT application, an integrated OSS system used for the technical provisioning of VPN customer connections in an international telecom environment. It works within an Agile team and focuses on continuous improvement of an existing, highly integrated system.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously develop and enhance the IPLS-ROT application
• Implement changes across several small but diverse functional topics
• Develop within an existing system architecture
• Design solutions at component and feature level
• Provide technical consulting and advisory support to business stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Contribute to documentation and help build system understanding

Required profile

• Secondary education
• 5 years of IT experience
• Expert knowledge of hardware/software overview, intermediate core platform knowledge
• Knowledge of financial literacy in the relevant business area
• Experience with project management methods
• Upper-intermediate English (B2); German is required, upper-intermediate German (B2) is an advantage
• Communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, presentation, training, mentoring and negotiation skills

Required skills

• Hands-on development with Java, Perl, PHP and SQL
• Apache Tomcat
• Agile development
• Solid understanding of OSS/BSS-integrated system landscapes
• Nice to have: telecom or network systems experience (OSS, provisioning, workflows), project management exposure, business-facing experience, and familiarity with high-volume interfaces, workflow-driven processes, inventory and resource management
