Lead Cloud Architect - Google Cloud (GCP)

About the role

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia is looking for a Lead Cloud Architect to design, govern and evolve the enterprise-grade cloud architecture of the One Data Ecosystem (ODE) on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role ensures platform stability, scalability, security and compliance while enabling data, analytics and AI workloads, and drives the migration from legacy architectures to GCP. It sits in the Finance & B2B domain of the DATA TRIBE.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the current cloud and data platform architecture and define cloud strategy, migration roadmaps and landing zones
• Design and govern GCP infrastructure (Compute, Data & Storage, Messaging, AI/ML) and data platforms, data lakes and analytics architectures
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and define CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices
• Design cloud security (IAM, VPCs, firewalls, VPNs, Cloud KMS) and ensure GDPR and enterprise compliance
• Ensure stability and availability of the ODE_S environment, including monitoring, logging and observability
• Lead international and cross-functional teams, mentor junior architects and engineers, support presales and solution design, and document architecture decisions

Required profile

• 10+ years of enterprise IT and cloud architecture experience, 5+ years hands-on with GCP at enterprise scale
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; preferred: Master's degree and a background as a senior data professional or data architect
• Fluent English; German also required
• Experience architecting cloud platforms, data lakes, data warehouses and analytics solutions

Required skills

• GCP core services (BigQuery, Dataplex, GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI)
• Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, Kubernetes (GKE)
• CI/CD pipelines, Git, SQL, Python and/or shell scripting
• Data modelling, ETL/ELT patterns, data governance and GDPR compliance
