Project Director – Clinical Trials (Oncology)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced full‑service Project Director to lead global oncology clinical trials. The role is fully remote and can be based in the UK, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia or Slovakia. You will act as the primary liaison with clients and drive project execution across complex study portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, delivering outstanding service and participating in proposal activities.
• Oversee all phases of clinical research trials, ensuring consistency across assigned portfolios.
• Provide direction to project managers on study establishment, planning, procurement, execution and closure.
• Manage study budgets, identify out‑of‑scope activities early, and drive change orders.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with timelines, risk mitigation and change management.
• Prepare status updates for clients and senior management, reporting key performance indicators and offering solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or health‑related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of clinical research experience, including at least 5 years of direct project management in oncology.
• Demonstrated mastery of ICH‑GCP and relevant SOPs.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mentor junior project managers.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experienced with Microsoft Project.
• Familiar with eTMF, EDC and CTMS platforms.
