Program Buyer – Strategic Procurement

About the role

As a Program Buyer you will lead the sourcing and procurement activities for complex automotive or plastics projects, ensuring alignment with ALTEN's purchasing policies and project objectives. You will work closely with commodity buyers, cross‑functional teams, and external suppliers to deliver cost‑effective and high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define supplier short‑list in line with purchasing policies and collaborate with commodity buyers.
• Collect and structure inputs for complex RFQs, considering market constraints, targets, and timelines.
• Conduct negotiations to meet quality, cost, and timing goals.
• Identify, propose, and compare alternative sourcing solutions.
• Prepare and present sourcing recommendations to the Sourcing Board.
• Draft, finalize, and implement supplier contracts.
• Handle purchase requests and orders within the project scope.
• Monitor supplier payment schedules and project risks/opportunities.
• Plan, coordinate, and track internal and external activities through project completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in automotive or plastics industry.
• Demonstrated project‑management exposure.
• Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written.
