Finance & Procurement Manager – Construction Group

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised, commercially‑minded finance professional to manage day‑to‑day finances, bookkeeping, project costs and procurement across a growing group of five companies in the interior design, architecture and construction sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping for five companies in Xero, reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and inter‑company transactions.
• Prepare weekly financial summaries, monthly profit‑and‑loss, cash‑flow and balance‑sheet reports for directors.
• Set up and maintain project accounting records, allocate labour, material and subcontractor costs, and monitor project margins.
• Verify CIS deductions, prepare monthly CIS returns and quarterly VAT returns, and support statutory filings.
• Source competitive prices from UK, European and Chinese suppliers, negotiate discounts, raise purchase orders and track deliveries.
• Communicate professionally with clients, suppliers and internal teams, chase invoices and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Strong bookkeeping and finance‑management experience, preferably in construction, property or interior design.
• Advanced working knowledge of Xero and solid understanding of CIS, VAT and construction reverse‑charge VAT.
• Experience managing finances for multiple companies and handling project accounting and cost control.
• Commercial procurement experience, including negotiation with international suppliers.
• Excellent attention to detail, proactive problem‑solving and ability to work independently.
