Security Monitoring Operator – Entry Level Cybersecurity Role

About the role

Kick‑start your career in cybersecurity by joining our Threat Analysis & Services team as a Security Monitoring Operator. You will work in a global 24/7 Managed Detection and Response (MDR) centre, using cutting‑edge tools to protect client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate shift‑based monitoring in a 24/7 MDR centre under senior guidance.
• Use EDR, XDR, SIEM and SOAR platforms to detect, investigate and mitigate threats.
• Document adversary activity, produce incident reports and escalate when needed.
• Analyze client data to uncover security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Participate in threat hunting, intelligence gathering and proactive security measures.
• Assist in creating and maintaining low‑level EDR, XDR and SIEM detection rules.
• Contribute to the refinement of MDR toolsets, incident‑response playbooks and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Background in IT security or related studies (preferred but not mandatory).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, GIAC, CompTIA, RHCE) are a plus but not required.
• Previous exposure to a SOC environment or familiarity with SIEM/SOAR tools.
• Willingness to work 24/7 shift schedules.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency (B2) and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with EDR, XDR, SIEM and SOAR platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Elasticsearch, ArcSight).
• Fundamental knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Basic scripting abilities (PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Bash, LUA).
• Understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, ports, protocols, MAC addresses).
