Junior Accountant with German (m/f)

About the role

We are looking for a graduate or junior finance professional with strong German language skills to join our PwC Tax team in Bratislava. This position offers hands‑on experience in accounting and finance operations while supporting international projects for German‑speaking clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and procure‑to‑pay.
• Process and review accounting data such as invoices, payments and open items.
• Assist with bank postings, payroll‑related entries and reconciliations.
• Support month‑end closing activities under supervision.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders and German‑speaking clients via email and calls.
• Follow up on open items and help resolve issues.
• Work with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Learn accounting standards, internal processes and client requirements.
• Participate in international projects and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• German language proficiency at C1 level (spoken and written).
• Good command of English.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work accurately with data and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Power BI (preferred).
