Data Analyst – Natural Catastrophe & Climate Risk

About the role

Join Synpulse's Centre of Excellence as a Data Analyst focused on natural catastrophes and climate‑related risk. You will support a US‑based client in managing catastrophe risk, maintaining and enhancing NatCat products, and ensuring high‑quality data collection and control.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess catastrophe risk models.
• Archive submission materials such as modeling files and underwriting narratives.
• Model in TouchStone/Verisk and validate results against cedant data.
• Work in Aqua: import files, update CLF columns, categorize data by peril, and run EP‑curve analysis.
• Update Excel spreadsheets and firm order terms (FOT) in Aqua with latest results.
• Support underwriting and other teams with data‑driven insights.
• Conduct research on specific NatCat risk topics.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Management, Economics, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in insurance, reinsurance, finance or banking.
• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail.
• Highly organized, process‑driven and able to work in cross‑functional teams.
• Interest in the re/insurance business and openness to support different clients.
