Senior Real-World Evidence Biostatistician

About the role
Fortrea is seeking an experienced Senior RWE Biostatistician to lead complex real‑world evidence studies for global pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. You will design innovative evidence‑generation strategies, conduct advanced statistical analyses, and provide scientific expertise that supports regulatory, payer and HTA decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design, analysis and interpretation of non‑interventional and RWE studies using claims, EHR, registry and other real‑world data sources.
- Apply causal‑inference methods such as propensity‑score matching, inverse probability weighting, instrumental variables, marginal structural models and difference‑in‑differences.
- Develop and review Statistical Analysis Plans, protocol statistical sections, estimands and study documentation.
- Ensure methodologies align with FDA, EMA and other regulatory guidance.
- Manage project teams, mentor junior statisticians and contribute to business development activities.
- Support internal innovation, methodological best practices, scientific publications and conference presentations.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Data Science or related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum 6 years of biostatistics experience (or 4 years with a doctoral degree) in non‑interventional/RWE research.
- Proven experience leading statistical activities in CRO, pharma, biotech or consulting environments.
- Strong understanding of causal inference, comparative effectiveness research and bias‑adjustment methodologies.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

- Python (advantage)
- Experience with OMOP or similar data models
- Working with claims databases, electronic health records and registries
