Senior Indirect Tax Consultant

About the role

EY is looking for an experienced Senior Indirect Tax Consultant to join its Indirect Tax team in Bratislava. You will work on Slovak and cross‑border VAT projects for multinational clients, helping them manage tax risk and optimise transaction structures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional tax advisory services related to Slovak and cross‑border VAT matters.
• Analyse and resolve complex indirect tax issues, delivering practical recommendations and tax risk‑management solutions.
• Work with multinational companies in sectors such as Pharmaceuticals, Automotive and Real Estate.
• Support VAT structuring of client transactions, applying Slovak and EU VAT legislation and relevant case law.
• Participate in projects alongside Partners and Managers from analysis and strategy to technical tax opinions.
• Prepare and review VAT returns.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics, Law or a related field.
• At least 3 years of tax advisory experience focused on indirect taxes (VAT) in a professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Slovak and EU VAT legislation and a desire to specialise further.
• Ability to manage technical assignments independently while working effectively in teams.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical conclusions to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Proactive, enthusiastic and client‑centric attitude.
• Fluent in Slovak and English, both written and spoken.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
