Senior Database Administrator

About the role

AT&T's Infrastructure Automation & Tools team manages and maintains a portfolio of enterprise database systems supporting mission-critical applications, with a strong focus on MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle. As a Senior Database Administrator in Bratislava, you will ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of these platforms. The position is hybrid, with an expectation of being in the office three days per week, and covers 9 am to 5 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement proactive solutions for high availability, fault tolerance and performance across MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle environments
• Lead incident response for major database incidents, perform root cause analysis and drive resolution
• Analyze system metrics, identify bottlenecks and tune databases for fast, efficient query performance
• Design and evolve database schemas, storage strategies and deployment models
• Enforce security controls, manage access and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
• Promote best practices, mentor junior team members and partner with application, infrastructure and security teams
• Maintain documentation, run-books and post-incident reviews

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing databases across multiple platforms
• Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of enterprise database systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience mentoring junior team members and leading complex projects

Required skills

• Deep expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle
• Certifications in one or more database technologies
• Performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

What we offer

• Salary range of 3,800 - 5,700 EUR gross per month (annual range 39,400 - 59,200 EUR)
• 40 hours per week
