Operations Manager

About the role

Kompozitum s.r.o., a stable European manufacturer of carbon and graphite components and part of the Wabtec group, is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead its manufacturing operations. As a member of the site leadership team, you will oversee Production, Supply Chain, Production Execution and Methods, and help drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity and financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets
• Develop and deploy short- and long-term operational strategies
• Manage the Operations budget and build, propose and run monthly sales and backlog forecasts
• Drive productivity improvements, cost reduction and Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor operational KPIs, lead capacity planning and resource allocation, and optimize the workforce
• Build manufacturing policies, procedures and performance standards
• Lead major operational projects such as facility layout changes, equipment installations and investments
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
• Coach and evaluate leadership teams and act as a liaison between site leadership, managers and employees

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical education and experience
• At least 10 years of operations management experience in manufacturing
• Proven leadership of multiple functions and large teams
• Experience in an international manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in English and Slovak

• Budgeting, financial planning and performance management
• SAP (an advantage)
• Microsoft Office 365
• Lean Manufacturing methods: 5S, Kaizen, FMEA, One-Piece Flow, Lean Management
