Medical Science Liaison – Respiratory, Eastern Slovakia

About the role

AstraZeneca is looking for a Medical Science Liaison for its respiratory therapeutic area, covering Eastern and part of Central Slovakia. The ideal candidate lives in Košice. The role provides medical and ethical support for assigned products, develops medical programs and tactics and coordinates them locally with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with external customers such as current and future Key Opinion Leaders, brand advocates and cooperative groups, and implement KEE plans with cross-functional teams.
• Deliver high-quality medical and scientific education, including clinical and scientific presentations at sites and to local decision makers and budget holders.
• Provide accurate medical, therapeutic area and product advice to internal and external customers.
• Take part in commercial initiatives, prepare medical programs and local territory tactics, and support pre-launch activities of new products.
• Advise the HTA manager on health economy trials, outcome research and comparative effectiveness research, and consult on medical objections handling.
• Support the preparation of promotional and training materials, deliver targeted internal training, and help manage competitor complaints.
• Ensure medical and ethical integrity and compliance, run advisory boards if needed, and support Medical Information, Regulatory Affairs and Patient Safety.
• Stay up to date with clinical and theoretical medicine, and contribute to the Local Clinical Investigation Program (non-interventional studies, patient registries, investigator-initiated studies).

Required profile

• University degree in medicine, life sciences, pharmacy or a related scientific or health science; postgraduate degree is an advantage.
• Clinical experience is an advantage.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry practices and Medical Affairs functions.
• Willingness to travel 60-80% of the time within the territory.
