Lead Data Architect

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for a Lead Data Architect in Bratislava to shape end-to-end data architecture across a broad business and application landscape. Working with stakeholders across business and IT, you turn complex requirements into logical data models, data flows and architecture designs that support operations, integrations, analytics and AI-driven use cases. You act as a bridge between business stakeholders and application engineering teams, helping ensure data is structured, governed and managed consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with P&C Reinsurance business and IT teams, and the wider Swiss Re organisation, to turn business requirements into clear data architecture designs.
• Create scalable, reliable data models and end-to-end data flows aligned with business needs in operational and analytical environments.
• Guide engineers and delivery teams in implementing physical data models, data flows and data access controls.
• Own and evolve key data architecture artefacts such as data models, shared definitions, lineage documentation and design assets.
• Use AI tools and techniques within the data architecture function to improve efficiency.
• Align with Swiss Re's data governance standards and security requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience with 3NF and dimensional modelling, able to support operational, integration and analytical use cases.
• Working knowledge of data architecture patterns for operational systems, application integration and data analytics in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience giving architectural guidance to engineering and delivery teams.
• Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to work with multicultural, globally distributed teams.
• Nice to have: industry knowledge in the Property & Casualty domain, especially how data supports risk assessment.

• Data management: data sourcing, profiling, transformation, quality management, master/reference data, data cataloguing, lifecycle and access management
• Application integration and data analytics architectures

What we offer

• Base salary in Slovakia of EUR 3,400 to EUR 5,700 per month for a full-time role, depending on profile and requirements.
