General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Covestro is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to ensure timely, accurate and compliant processing of all GL, closing and reporting transactions. You will work within a global finance team, supporting day‑to‑day operations and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and approve requests for new or changed GL accounts and other master data.
• Perform manual GL postings and monitor account clearing according to defined procedures.
• Review closing results, follow up with business units and execute closing activities.
• Prepare and execute regular reporting tasks.
• Support audit and control activities and ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Understand service level agreements and key performance indicators for GL processes.
• Contribute to the maintenance and update of GL, closing and reporting procedures.
• Assist in initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness of transaction processing.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics or Business Administration, preferably with an accounting focus.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in GL, closing or reporting.
• Experience in a complex, international business environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of IFRS, local tax and accounting regulations.
• Basic understanding of end‑to‑end finance and accounting processes.
• Strong communication skills and business‑level English.

What we offer

• Minimum salary of 1,650 EUR per month, with the possibility of a higher package based on experience.
