Application Engineer – 3D Metrology

About the role

ZEISS is seeking an Application Engineer specialized in 3D Metrology to work from its Trnava site in Slovakia. The role combines hands‑on measurement work with customer interaction, supporting a range of industries through advanced optical and metrology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute custom 3D measurements using tactile, camera, 3D scanning and CT scanning technologies in the lab or at customer locations.
• Program and create measurement plans based on technical drawings and customer specifications.
• Analyse customer requirements and propose suitable technical solutions across various sectors.
• Train users on measuring devices and software at training centres or on‑site.
• Present advanced 3D metrology equipment at trade fairs, user meetings and similar events.

Required profile

• University degree in a technical field or secondary technical education with relevant experience.
• Active knowledge of English for international training and projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, with experience in 3D metrology.
• Good presentation and communication skills.
• Understanding of market trends and customer needs.

Required skills

• Experience in a similar role.
• Hands‑on experience with multiple 3D measurement technologies.
• Confidence delivering customer training and technical demonstrations.
• Category B driving licence.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the region and internationally.
