AI / Software Engineering Manager (m/f)

About the role

PwC's Advanced Technology Solutions team in Bratislava is looking for an AI / Software Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of AI-powered software engineering solutions for leading global clients. The role suits experienced leaders who combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills and want to build, mentor and scale high-performing teams in a dynamic consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage cross-functional teams of software engineers, AI engineers, data scientists and developers delivering AI and software solutions.
• Design and architect scalable solutions using modern software engineering practices and AI technologies such as Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, NLP, Computer Vision and Data Science.
• Drive end-to-end project delivery from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing support, meeting quality and timelines.
• Work with clients and internal stakeholders to turn business challenges into scalable technical strategies.
• Mentor team members and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Set best practices for software development, AI implementation, deployment and governance.
• Use AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code and ChatPwC to improve productivity and code quality.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI development, machine learning or cloud technologies, with a proven track record leading technical teams.
• Proven success managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects end-to-end.
• Experience with SQL databases and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and data engineering practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence senior clients and executives.
• Strategic mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and English B2+.

Required skills

• Python and/or other modern programming languages and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn.
• Hands-on experience with AI technologies such as LLMs, RAG, NLP, machine learning, computer vision, microservices or distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment and monitoring.
