Senior Logistics Engineer – Inbound Logistics

About the role

Volvo Cars is expanding its new electric‑vehicle plant in Košice and seeks a Senior Logistics Engineer to lead inbound logistics optimization across EMEA and the rest of the world. You will ensure cost‑effective, sustainable transport networks that support production sites.

Key responsibilities

• Define and set the most efficient transport set‑up, including lead times, time windows, equipment and mode.
• Control and optimise transport network costs and maximise trailer/container load utilisation.
• Adjust bought capacity in response to volume fluctuations and balance material inflow to all sites.
• Maintain transport orders in the internal system and support order creation in the transport management system.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives to mitigate peak volumes around holidays and improve end‑to‑end supplier‑to‑production flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 5–10+ years of logistics or supply‑chain engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong analytical abilities, fluency in English and Slovak, and experience working in an international environment.
