Senior Data Scientist – Agentic AI Platform

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of its Agentic AI Platform, a suite of autonomous AI agents that plan, reason, and execute complex business workflows. You will design production‑grade solutions, mentor junior team members, and shape the technical direction of GenAI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and productionize multi‑agent systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel.
• Develop end‑to‑end Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including document ingestion, embeddings, vector search, and grounding for agent knowledge.
• Integrate agents with enterprise APIs via tool/function calling and Model Context Protocol patterns.
• Build and maintain LLM evaluation frameworks, implement safety guardrails, and manage LLMOps/MLOps for the platform.
• Collaborate with data engineers on Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics to ensure data quality and governance.

Required profile

• Professional experience in data science/ML with production LLM or GenAI applications.
• Hands‑on experience with agentic frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
• Strong understanding of LLM application patterns and prompt engineering.
• Expert‑level Python programming, including async, API development (FastAPI), and data libraries.
• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and large‑scale SQL data processing.
