Security Monitoring Operator – SOC (Entry Level)

About the role

ESET is looking for a Security Monitoring Operator to join its Threat Analysis & Services team in Košice. You will work in a global 24/7 MDR centre, taking part in shift operations under the guidance of experienced experts. The role suits people who want to start their cybersecurity career.

Key responsibilities

• Use security monitoring tools such as EDR, XDR, SIEM and SOAR to detect and mitigate threats.
• Investigate security incidents, document adversary activity and escalate when needed.
• Analyse client data to find potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to threat hunting, intelligence gathering and proactive security measures.
• Help maintain low-level EDR, XDR and SIEM rules and improve the MDR toolset.
• Take part in developing incident response guidelines and playbooks.
• Prepare reports for clients and communicate about incidents.

Required profile

• IT security background preferred; cybersecurity certifications (GIAC, RHCE, CompTIA, CRTO, Offensive Security, Blue Team, etc.) are welcome but not required.
• Previous SOC experience is beneficial; familiarity with forensics or incident response is an advantage.
• Upper intermediate English (B2).
• Willingness to work 24/7 shifts, analytical mindset, patience with large data volumes and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SIEM or SOAR tools (Splunk, QRadar, Elasticsearch, ArcSight) is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux and computer networks.
• Basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua) is advantageous.
