Program Director for Europe

About the role

Habitat for Humanity International seeks a senior leader to drive systemic impact across Europe, overseeing strategy, technical quality, people, and resource mobilization for sustainable housing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operationalize the Europe Program Strategy aligned with global priorities.
• Lead technical quality and innovation across housing areas such as energy efficiency, social rental and displacement response.
• Build and manage a high‑performing multidisciplinary Europe program team.
• Establish strategic relationships with National Organizations, foundations and EU institutions.
• Drive resource mobilization by creating multi‑country funding packages for EU bodies and donors.
• Represent Habitat on national boards and contribute to area leadership and budgeting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Development, Public Administration, Social Sciences or related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive program management experience, with 5 years focused on European housing programs.
• Deep knowledge of European housing challenges and EU funding mechanisms (e.g., LIFE, Horizon Europe).
• Fluency in English and proficiency in another major European language (French, German or Spanish preferred).
• Proven ability to travel extensively across Europe and to the global headquarters.
