Lead Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Cat Digital, the digital and technology arm of Caterpillar Inc., is hiring a Lead Site Reliability Engineer in Kosice, Slovakia. The role ensures the reliability, availability and performance of the Cat Digital mission-critical web-based systems and infrastructure, while delivering technical roadmaps and supporting digital product development.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability, availability and performance of mission-critical web-based systems and infrastructure.
• Deliver technical roadmaps for business processes and applications aligned with business objectives, standards and processes.
• Analyse business requirements and the current technical gaps needed to support business strategy.
• Take part in risk assessments, root cause analysis, corrective actions, quality assurance and routine issue resolution.
• Communicate client feedback to technology teams to improve deliverables and meet business requirements.

Required profile

• Experience with AWS infrastructure and services.
• Experience with IaC solutions such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD solutions such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Proven experience and proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or JavaScript (preferred).
• Solid experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to guide engineers and own technical decisions.

Required skills

• Preferred: monitoring and alerting tools such as Thousand Eyes, Grafana, AppDynamics, Datadog, New Relic or Dynatrace.
• Preferred: knowledge of Node.js, Next.js and similar headless services.
• Preferred: understanding of distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry and similar.
• AWS Associate or higher certification is preferred.

• Gross pay from 4,403 to 5,500 euros per month, with a base minimum of 52,824 euros per year.
