Lead Product Design Engineer

About the role

Hengstler-Dynapar is seeking a Lead Product Design Engineer to join its dynamic team in Kezmarok, Slovakia. You will transform customer challenges into innovative industrial products across thermal printers, timers, counters, and relays, working closely with product management and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop product concepts and system architectures for industrial devices based on customer technical discussions.
• Define performance requirements, acceptance criteria, and verification plans; identify risks and propose alternatives.
• Design and build functional prototypes to validate concepts and technical feasibility.
• Conduct laboratory testing, analyze results, and iterate designs accordingly.
• Drive technical decisions, remove development roadblocks, and maintain project momentum.
• Support design reviews and ensure compliance with performance, reliability, safety, regulatory, and manufacturability standards.
• Assist with manufacturing transfer, pilot builds, and product launches.
• Prepare technical documentation, product specifications, and engineering change activities.
• Monitor field performance and recommend design improvements.
• Collaborate with customers on custom requests and advanced engineering projects.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in new product development, specifically electromechanical and electronic products.
• Proven ability to translate business and customer needs into engineering specifications.
• Experience working with customers to capture technical requirements.
• Strong background in cross‑functional product development teams.
• Familiarity with stage‑gate or structured product development processes.
• Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
