DevOps Engineer – Electric Car Factory (Košice)

About the role

As a DevOps Engineer at Volvo Cars’ new electric‑only plant in Košice, you will help launch and sustain digital applications that support premium electric vehicle production. You will work closely with central product teams, factory support and manufacturing engineering to ensure reliable, secure and high‑performing software services.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse user requirements and translate them into digital functions while adhering to Volvo technical standards.
• Plan, test (UAT), roll‑out, deploy and verify software releases, and hand over to factory support.
• Drive resolution of software problem tickets, manage cut‑over, go‑live, hyper‑care and stabilization activities.
• Maintain high availability, performance, security compliance, monitoring, alerting, backup and recovery.
• Steer application lifecycle, upgrades and technical debt together with central product teams.

Required profile

• Several years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle using agile practices.
• Ability to work in a multinational, green‑field transformation setting.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible.
• CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins.
• Scripting/programming: Python, Ruby, Go, Bash.
• Relational databases and monitoring/alerting solutions.
